Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or upon vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To hire a vehicle in Didsbury, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional fees. You need a valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category, held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement. It is necessary to present valid identification and proof of your current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit are also required. Additional conditions may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or at our Didsbury branch. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally payable at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely with trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed, which both you and our representative will sign. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and applicable charges will be applied. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as it was provided; refueling fees will be incurred if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during the rental, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every car rental. You will find comprehensive coverage information and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Consider exploring additional insurance options to limit your financial risk. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless you opt for extra insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms falls under your responsibility, regardless of insurance provisions.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is prohibited. This includes racing, off-roading, or engaging in any activities that may pose a risk. Transporting dangerous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to others is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure the vehicle is used as intended and adhere to passenger and weight limits. Traveling outside the designated geographical area requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Didsbury is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the amount paid for your rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
